The Youth Group at First Church

We welcome young people in grades 6-12. We meet about 2 Sundays a month, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., in our own wild and crazy youth space. Join us for fun, fellowship, service and mission, worship, music and food! Make new friends; see some old friends.

In addition to our weekly meetings, we enjoy a host of  other activities. We have:
attended Christian Rock festivals, met  other youth groups to share activities
engaged in community service, walked for hunger, led worship services
participated in rallies, famine sleep-overs, and retreats.

This past June, five of us participated in the Hartford Mission Project.

Greg Woods at Hartford Rescue Mission, an outreach program offering the homeless food, shelter, and clothing.   Dan Nieman dancing with a member of the Hispanic Senior Center of Hartford, which was one of the outreach programs in which our Team participated.

We lived at the Salvation Army in Hartford, and volunteered at the Hartford Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter; the Hispanic Senior Center; a home for women with substance abuse; and Peter's Retreat, a home for people living with AIDS. We served over 700 hotdogs and helped with a basketball clinic at a community picnic.
