Christian Education at First Church
Our Christian Education program introduces people of all ages to an understanding of God as known to us in the life and mission of Jesus Christ and as recorded in the Holy Bible. We seek not only to understand our Christian faith but also to discover and nurture a living relationship to God within our souls and to God as found in each other and in our world. To that end, the Christian Education Program includes Sunday church school, adult education programs, youth fellowship opportunities and a confirmation program for youth. Mission projects, second hour programs and family events all serve to help find God in community.
All children attend worship each week and are dismissed to church school after the children's message. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers in the Toddler Room. A curriculum program is offered to children in Preschool through Grade 8, September through June. Teachers use the Whole People of God Online curriculum produced by Wood Lake Publishing, Inc. , an age appropriate program using multiple intelligences and myriad approaches to understanding and living the Christian message of love. Our Communion table is open to all, regardless of age, and instruction is available for children and their parents.
